A bit of a gimmick

The best way to describe my complexion is 'inclined'. Inclined for being both dry and oily. I use this mask in times when I need an extra bit of moisture, because my current cream is very light, and even ordinary washing with foam leaves my skin unpleasantly dry.

And here it works amazingly, because it really moisturizes the skin perfectly. It does not absorb completely, it stays on my skin and makes the complexion soft and supple. However, because of this I have the impression that it increases the probability of waking up with an unwanted "friend" on my face.

Its performance really deserves some praise. I have a 7 ml sample tube. I've used it around 7-10 times so far and I have used about half of it.

I think I would use a full tube in about a year, which is great considering the high price. The smell is also a barely perceptible, for a chemical-cream.

To sum up, it is a good product, it fulfills the promises of the brand and my requirements, but in my opinion it is a gimmick, because a similar effect can be achieved with a very simple cream. This is not a breakthrough or irreplaceable product, and the name 'mask for the night' is rather a marketing gimmick.

it really moistens the skin and is long lasting

So many better masks out there
As much as I love many Clinique products, and moisture surge line in particular, unfortunately this mask has left me somewhat disappointed. It wasn't that there is anything wrong with it - it does feel nice on the skin. However, I don't find it any more moisturising than other products, it doesn't smell particularly nice, and overall it's just a bit... "meh". I'll use it when it comes as a bonus sample - but I wouldn't buy a full size as I think there are better products out there.
